Kaith is Diaper-free already

bye bye diaper

As I was telling that Kaith is still not potty-trained yet 2 months back, earlier this month, Kaith has been totally diaper-free during day time.

It was quiet easy actually, it took just a few days to complete the process. The first 2 days, we take off her diaper during day time and every hour we’ll take the potty & get her to sit on it but she will not pee in there. So then we decided to take her to the toilet and guess what, it works! I think she just doesn’t like the potty and prefer to go to toilet like her gorgor Dillon……

But the funny thing now is that, she will pee in the toilet but when it comes to pass motion, she cannot tell and we are still trying to train her on this, guess she might just need some time.

I’m glad that she has achieved another milestone and it obviously save me on the diapers too, hehe.

I’m losing my maid

Been busy on so many things recently and didn’t have time to blog about this. It actually happened about a month ago.

The story goes like this, most of you knew that I have 2 Myanmar maids (maid A & B). Maid A has been working for us since Dillon was born and maid B came after Kaith was born. Everything was fine until April, maid B decided to quit so ok, we can’t do much but to let her go in end May.

We were trying to get a replacement but no luck, luckily my mother-in-law (MIL) was there to help out and I truly appreciate that. In fact, I didn’t know that my MIL is so capable in doing housework and handling kids until then.

Anyway, not long after that my MIL discovered that my maid A has an attitude problem. Maybe she’s been working with us for long and she always thought that we rely so much on her & we can’t lose her(since I’m wokring full time), so she did not respect my MIL in many ocassions.

For instance my MIL said she put too much salt for Dillon’s food, she fight back and said no, and then the next day, she asked my MIL to cook herself so that she won’t complain. Another thing is that my MIL asked her to wake up at 6am to mop the floor & clean the house before kids wakes up (kids wake up at 7am plus), she said she cannot get up that early and she is used to get up after 7am with the kids (yes, it was also our fault to have given in too much earlier on.)

Furthermore maid A asked for a pay increase again (after increased during CNY) because we didn’t get a replacement for maid B and she has to do a lot more, which is really nonsense. We rejected her & insisted her to follow what my MIL said, and then she said she wanted to quit. Perhaps she thought we would ask her to stay, but we didn’t, my MIL was so pissed up with her attitude and didn’t want her to stay, so my maid A will only stay with us till end of June now.

Luckily we have found an Indonesian maid as replacement, although we are not sure how good/bad this maid is, but with my MIL around to train her and keep an eye on her, I’m not too worried.

I hope my my kids will get along well with the new maid too, wish me luck! :)

I’ve passed…..

30th-better-than-ever

Today, I’ve passed the gate of 30s.

So what does a 30 years old married woman with 2 kids wished for? I just wish that everyday is a happy day for me & my family.

I know that life after 30 will be better than ever. :)

Garden

The house which I‘m currently living in is very small, in future if I have my own house, I would want to have a big garden. I can put a swing and slide for my children to play, and I can go and get some fruit trees from tree nursery, some organic plants and flowers and plant them in my garden, it will sure look very nice and green.

Acne problem

Although inner beauty is what’s more important in a person, but appearance is equally important to most people, including myself. I used to have blackhead acne problem during my teenager’s days and I’m really depressed over it. Luckily I found the right facial treatment and product in the end, and I have managed to get rid of them later and keep my face free from the problem up till today.

New office

My brother runs his own business for many years already and he is looking to open up another branch office soon. Renovation work is done and we are now busy sourcing for cheap office furniture in order to keep the overhead as low as possible. We have received many quotations from different companies, and are going to pick the best offer and service we could possible get.

Lose weight

When you eat more than what you need, that means you are storing the excessive calories and it turns into fat eventually. So most often the cause of weight gain is too much of food intake. Many of the diet solutions in the market work as appetite suppressants, which will make you feel full after eating just little food, and then help to lose weight.

Memory Card

When you saw those cheap deals on camera, be sure to find out about the package that they offer, whether it does include any accessories and most importantly the memory cards, and the memory capacity. Some camera shops are trying to attract customer with cheap price but in the end the customers need to top up to get the all other necessary items, which comes up to about the same or even more than the standard package price.

Krabi Trip – Day 2 (Phi Phi island)

We woke up at 7.30am to have our breakfast (incl in the room) and then we were picked up at 8.30am, and transferred to the pier to board the speed boat.

It took us about 35 minutes to reach our 1st stop – Bamboo island. The sand on the beach is so smooth and the sea is so beautiful. We were the only boat there and we feel like we have the beach all by ourselves, it’s so exclusive.

The sand is smooth

Look at the beautiful sea

Our next stop is to Maya Bay, i.e. the film location for the movie “The Beach”. The beach and scenery is nice too but we don’t really like it because it was too crowded, too many tourist there and we can’t hardly take nice photos.

After that we went for the 1st snorkelling stop at Lohsamah Bay. I didn’t go for it, so I stayed on the boat and feed the fish with bread. Next we went to Piley Bay to see the fantastic lagoon, the water is so clear and so green, just like those that you seen on postcards.

Just like seeing postcard

Water is so clear....

Viking cave is nothing much, we only stopped over for photos and that’s it. The cave is a place for birds nests, according to the tour guide, tourist used to go up the cave but because the crowd was too many and it disturbed the birds there so no tourist is allowed to go up anymore.

Around 12.30pm we had our lunch on Phi Phi Don island, this is the only island aroudn here that has restaurants, hotels and shops. Scenery here is not bad but it is also very crowded, so many tourtist and just like a small town.

Nice view

After lunch we proceed to another 2 snorkelling locations which is th Monkey Bay & Hin Klarng. Again I didn’t go for it but hubby did. The water is so clear and you can see so many tiger fishes there, it’s beautiful.

The trip ended around 4pm and we reached our hotel around 4.30pm. After freshen up, we went to Ruen Mai restaurant near Krabi town for dinner. This is a very nice place with garden settings and the service was excellent. We ordered Seafood To Yum (again!), Green Curry Pork, Chicken with Cashewnuts & Fried Mixed Vegetables. The food portion was good and taste really yummy especially the Tom Yum. The total bill including our beers is about 520baht. Although it’s a bit of distance to come here but I think it’s worthwhile for the good food & environment.

Nice garden settings
Take a taxi from Ao Nang to Ruen Mai at 60baht per person, most drivers would know but it’s also indicated on the Krabi town Map so you can show it.

After dinner, we had a short walk in Krabitown but there was nothing much to see there, so we went back to our hotel for massage. The massage at Sunset hotel is superb, hubby & I went for Aromatherapy full body massage for 1 hour and we pay total 700baht only, you gotta try this too if you are there.

The next day before we check out, we went to the Ao nangbeach again at 7am to take some photos, the beach at this time has a different kind of beauty in it. Overall speaking, this trip is really worth the money and we both had a great & relaxing time in Krabi.

Krabi trip – Day 1

I just came back from Krabi trip with my hubby last Sunday, after spending 3 days 2 nights there.

We stayed at Ao Nang Sunset hotel, the rate is about RM260 for 2 nights. It is at a very strategic location, just 2-3 minutes walk to the beach, airport shuttle bus stops (150baht per person per way, if you take taxi it’ll cost you around 600baht) just opposite the hotel, with plenty of restaurants & shops nearby.

Ao Nang Sunset Hotelthe room is spacious & clean

After we had late lunch, we took a walk to the nearby Ao Nang beach. It was very quiet due to low season, there’s only a few people on the beach, but we kind of like this because it feels exclusive. It is supposed to be the raining season (hence low season) but we were lucky that the weather during our stay was perfect.

Ao Nang beach

There are many tour agents in the area, and many day trip packages to choose from. In the end we decided to go on the Phi Phi Island speedboat tour, which is merely 1000baht per person (normal price 1800baht). Another reason why we like to travel during low season.

We went for dinner after we booked our tour. We walked along the street and came to this place recommended by some of my friends, whcih is called Aree Bar Bar.  It feels special to be having our meal in a “small hut” and there was  only 3-4 tables occuppied, hence the food was served very fast and we could have a quite dinner.

Aree Bar Bar

When you walked passed McDonald’s on your left, just go across the opposite side of the road and continue to walk for a while, then you’ll see this place.

We ordered Seafood Tom Yum (of course!), Masamman Chicken, Fried Mushroom & Fried Kangkung, all of the dishes was delicious and I especially like the fried mushroom. Including our drinks, this meal cost us about 400baht.

(from top left, anti-clockwise) Seafood Tom Yum-120baht, Fried Mushroom- 60baht, Masamman Chicken- 80baht, Fried Kangkung- 50baht.

On our way back to the hotel, we bought the Banana Pancake from the street hawker and I’d say you should try this if you are there, it’s yummy and cost only 20 baht per piece. If you don’t like banana, there are more than 10 other variants you can choose from such as egg, chocolate, sesame, tuna etc.

When we were back at the hotel, both of us sit at the balcony chit chatting while drinking beer, it’s so relaxing. We have to rest early as the next day trip is gonna be tiring.

Blog break

If you notice, I have not been posting for more than a week already. I have been busy at work and also helping my friend to setup a business website.

I’m also preparing for my holiday trip to Krabi, Thailand with my hubby on this coming Friday so you won’t see me appearing here until after the 18th. I will surely share about my trip and photos as soon as possible. Stay tuned!

P/S: I have also setup a photography site on behalf of my hubby, if you have time, do pay a visit to http://pixmoments.blogspot.com. Thanks for your support.

Stainless steel tiles

My cousin has just bought a new house and is busy doing the renovation. She is very particular about tiles and hence she has gone to a few showrooms to check out different types of tiles. At last she has decided to install the stainless steel backsplash to her kitchen and bathroom because the patterns look modern and yet durable and practical.
