Confinement food catering

Most of you would have known that I won’t have a confinement lady this time and I will order confinement food catering. Click here to read about my plan & budget.

Therefore I’ve done quite a bit of “research” & enquiries around with different caterers and I thought I would share the information with all, who knows some of you might need this as reference in future? I would not comment about the food & service here because everybody has different taste buds & requirement. You can always arrange for free food tasting with all these caterers & judge yourself.

1. SHL Care Confinement Cares
Location: Metro Prima, Kepong

Package A – RM2280 (2 Soups, 2 Rice, 4 Dishes, Snack, Red Dates Drink + 15 packs herbal bath & 1 dry shampoo)
Package B – RM1880 (1 Soup, 2 Rice, 4 dishes, Red Dates Drink + 15 packs herbal bath & 1 dry shampoo)

Flexi meal package (delivery will be charged separately)
Week 1 & 2 – RM38/meal (1 Soup, 1 Rice, 2 Dishes, Red Dates Drink)
OR M65/meal – (1 Soup, 2 Rice, 4 dishes, Red Dates Drink)
Week 3 & 4 – RM40/meal or RM70/meal

2. PeiLing
Location: SS2, PJ
Tel: 603-7877 8000 (Alice)

Complete 30-days package – RM2988 (8 food items inclusive of delivery, 30 days herbal bath for mum & baby, 30 days Rejuvenation Supplement, 1 box Soh Hup Yuen, 1 bottle yellow wine, 1 bottle sesame oil, 1 belly belt….etc)

Flexi meal package is also available (min order of 5 items from the menu list for a min of 14 days, delivery will be charged separately) – more economic

3. SN-Nanny
Location: Sri Petaling
Tel: 6012- 933 8353(Karen)

Complete 30-days package – RM2200 (2 meats, 2 Vege, 1 Soup, 2 Brown Rice, 1 Red dates drink, inclusive of delivery)

Flexi meal 30-days package – RM1200 (1 meat, 1 Vege, 1 Soup, 1 Brown Rice, 1 Red dates drink, delivery will be charged separately) – can order for 14 days at RM560 also

4. Feng Chai
Location: Puchong, opposite IOI Mall
Tel: 012-263 5071 / 012-219 2559 (Mrs. Wu)

Complete 28-days package – RM2180 (2 meat, 2 Vege, 1 Soup, 1 Red dates drink, inclusive of delivery)

Please note that the above package & prices are correct at the time I made my enquiry, it might have changed throughout the months & years so the best is to contact the respective caterer to confirm the package & price again.

yeah chinnee, but it’s a good thing that we can have more options for our confinement.

baby darren, when I had a CL last time, I still spent about RM1.9K for the food & herbs ingredient so I’d rather just spend on the food this time.

babykhong, I sure go around to collect info b4 making decisions mah, hehe. My 1st choice was SHL but too bad they are fully booked in July so I ordered 14days of flexi meal fr peiling now; will decide later if I’d continue or switch to order fr SN maybe.

soooo expensive…but if no choice…i was lucky i have my mom to cook all the yummy food for me.

Hi Everybody,

Let me introduce myself.

I’m working as a Confinement Nanny for the pass 3 yrs in JB, Kuala Lumpur, Penang & Ipoh. My age is 50 yrs old & I can speak English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hokkien & Hakka. I had undergone training through my aunt who had 16 yrs experience as a confinement nanny. My friend who is a Paediatrician on breastfeeding & baby care has also trained me.
I serve 3 meals plus tea snacks per day. Breakfast is serve either nourishing noodles with meat & vegetables or western breakfast. Lunch & Dinner are serve with soup, meat/fish & vegetables. Tea snack is serve with light desert. Tonic drink is serve during the night for the mother to consume before she goes to bed. Nursing the mother health back to prenatal state is important.
Mother’s bathroom will be cleaned 2-3 days once due to the stain cause by the herbal water. Before I leave the bathroom I use will also be cleaned.
Baby will be taken care day & night. Taking care of the baby hygiene, bath, change nappy, help the mother to breastfeed the baby day & night.

Dear Karen,

Can you share your experience with the catering services by SN? was it good? How much did you spend in total and what were the items you ordered?
I’m planning to have my MIL help me out during my confinement, but may want to cater the food as not to burden her so much.

I was planning to DIY my confinement. So, hopefully you can share with me as well your experience with SN catering services? Are the food offer with a lot of choices? Did you try out their ‘Double boiled chicken essence” as mentioned in your blog?
