Have you heard of food sterilizer or ozonizer? I’ve heard about it but didn’t bother to get one, until my son Dillon has started to take table food, I became more concern about the quality of food that we eat.
It was then my brother pass me this ozonizer he no longer need to use, because he is now a vegetarian and he only eats organic vegetables. How lucky I am, it saves me a couple of hundreds as I know one ozoniser easily cost around seven to eight hundred.
This is one of the ozonizer I saw at the Health Fair last week, it comes with 3 years warranty and cost RM 880!!
The ozonizer can sterilise the meat & vegetables, eliminates residual of pesticides and hence keeping the freshness longer. As I only go to market once a week and thus it is vital to keep the freshness of food as long as possible. Normally I will wash the meat clean and put in the ozonizer for 30 minutes, then only I’ll portion them into individual food bag and keep in the freezer for one week consumption.

130 min to sterlised the meat is quite long la…the most I go for 20 mins only…but seldom 10 min is more than enough.

2Hi judy, I’m not sure as my brother passed on to me, and he just say turn the timer to the max, which is 30 mins for meat, hmmmm….

3How about the vege? You sterlise the required portion the day b4 cook?

4Hi vicky, I sterilise vege in lesser time like 15mins when I bought back, after then only i pack & keep in fridge.
Meat & vege freshness can be kept longer in this way.

Just FYI,there are two technologies to produce Ozone which is UV-Ozone & Corona Discharge. So far in the market right now,just only Top-Ozone is using UV-Ozone which is the SAFE technology. The Corona Discharge generate a poison gas-Nitrogen Oxides & the concentration is too high. The International Ozone Association banned the technology especially for home use because of the Nitrogen Oxides which is harmful to our body.
Anyway,just a kind reminder to you..do keep yourself away from the machine and open the windows and doors as well when you are doing the ozonation~It’s harmful to your respiration system.
Besides, to achieve the effectiveness of 99.95% of food sterilization, we are suggest you to make sure the food is immersed fully in the water and set the timer to: 1 liter water = 10mins ozonation, 2 liter water = 20mins ozonation and so on.
