As mentioned in my previous post, I have decided to discontinue breastfeeding Kaith and wanted to wean her off the midnight feed, up till today I’m not able to “achieve” it yet. Kaith still wakes up around 3am for milk, even I tried to cradle her back to sleep without giving her milk but I failed, and she doesn’t want pacifier as well.
Last 2 days, I’ve asked my maid to room in with Kaith while Dillon sleeps with me, hoping that maybe Kaith won’t wake up for milk if it wasn’t me sleeping next to her…. too bad it’s the same, worst still my maid needs to wake up & make milk for her while I need to wake up to express milk, which is more hassle and more tiring for both of us.
So now everything is back to usual where Kaith is sleeping with me and I’m still breastfeeding her midnight.
Any tips on how to put a stop to this?

2Ya loh sting, both kids are so different. Dillon sleeps through & never wake up for midnight feed since 2-3 months old. That’s why I don’t know how to handle with Kaith now…..

4Although I stop BF but still have to wake up at 4am to bottle feed. I guess baby’s stomach is not big enough to keep milk that can last through the night.

11karen, i’m qith mummy to qiqi with this one. gib didnt want formula at night for a year but when he was ready, he showed disinterest in breastfeeding at night. thats when i stopped and now he only wakes up for water during dawn. i read up on this a lot when i wanted to wean gib off, and most sources say the baby will stop on their own when they’re ready.
hope everything’ll turn out good
