We’ll be traveling to Penang by road on this coming weekend to attend a wedding function, and also visiting the island.
This would also be my 1st time traveling with both kids and I’m a bit excited. I have already prepared a checklist so that I won’t miss out anything when packing the kids luggage. For Dillon it is much easier as he no longer takes milk and is diaper-free during day time. Anyway, these are the thing I’ve listed down:
- Sufficient outfits & diapers for 3 days 2 nights
- Shoes, socks & hats
- Baby wipes & diaper changing mat
- Baby bath & lotion
- Inflatable travel bathtub (for Kaith)
- Potty seat (for Dillon)
- Towels, handkerchiefs & bibs
- Milk powder, milk bottles, thermos flask, water bottle, cereals, feeding bowl & spoon (for Kaith)
- Water tumbler (for Dillon)
- Snacks, some small toys & books
- Sunscreen lotion
- Swim wear, swim ring, beach ball & beach toy play sets
- Antiseptic cream for mosquito bites & nappy cream (in case)
- The light weight umbrella stroller
Did I miss out anything essential?
OMG he missed it!!! There goes the championship title…… what a shame.
I’ve been thinking to buy a rocking horse for Dillon since long time ago. But those that I’ve seen are either too small, too “plastic” or too expensive. And then recently I found this one made of Rattan (”rotan”), which I think is more practical and worth the money, although it doesn’t look as fancy as those I’ve seen in Toys’r'us and Ikea. It is big and 2 kids can ride on it at one time, it is so durable that even I can ride on it.
It’s been a while since I blog about my kids (mummy only busy blogging about her KK trip la, Bangkok trip la so selfish
), so after the previous post about Kaith, now I should write something about Dillon too.
He is going to be 2.5 years old in 2 weeks time, getting more and more active & mischievous too. He enjoy going to the outdoor playground to play the swing, slides and basically running wild and his another favourite would be going to the pool.
He is not very good in talking yet but is learning at a steady pace. He speaks Mandarin most of the time (coz my maid speaks that) but he understands when I speak English to him too. He is also speaking a bit of Hakka dialect since my in laws speak the language to him.
Is he getting along well with meimei? It’s pretty well I’d say, he always show his care & love to Kaith where he will hug & kiss her forehead, pick up toys for her and play with her, wipe her face when she sweats, and when we bring him out, he will “ask” meimei to come along too……. so I think he is doing a good job as gorgor.
It’s a big family gathering tonight with my sister & husband and their 3 kids (Kah Hoe, Kah Lok & Wai Ying), my brother & wife and their kid (Zheng Yang), myself & hubby plus Dillon & Kaith and of course the “main character” of the day, our dear mummy. Well to be exact, there are 4 mummies at the dinner table.
Me, my mum, elder sister & brother, we don’t resemble each other eh? My sister look alike my dad, while my brother look alike my mum, as for me, I don’t know who I resemble….??
I’m very grateful that I can still celebrate this meaningful day with my mum, who gave birth to me at age 42 and is now 71 years old. I nearly lost her 2 years ago when she was attacked by stroke. I pray for good health & happiness to my mum for many many more years to come…..
“Dear Mum, Happy Mother’s Day to you and I love you”. I also hope that Dillon & Kaith will love me as much as I love my mum now.
Happy Mother’s Day to my MIL, sister – Angie, sister-in-law – Veronica & Airine, and all the blogger mums out there.
It’s surely a happy dinner to my mum with all her children & grandchildren (Kaith isn’t in this picture as she was sleeping)
Thanks Ruth for passing me this tag, it’s been ages since my last tag, haha. But since Mother’s day is around the corner, this tag is quite fun!
On Mother’s Day, hubby will treat me like princess, just like when we first started dating, he will also treat me to spa, manicure & pedicure, then accompany me shopping without being impatient (of course he will pay on what I spent, by default, haha
); at night hubby will prepare dinner for me…..
I would love to know what are the fantasies of these beautiful mummies:
Penny, HK, Jess, Jenn, Soohooi, Esther, Donna, Judy, Jane, Chinnee
Don’t hold back. Let it rip! Share your Mother’s Day Fantasies on your blog. Then pass it on to other Mothers to share. Let’s be silly and let our hair down. We had steamboat dinner at MK Restaurant located on the 1st floor of MBK Mall, it was fine but nothing special , I still think our homemade steamboat is the best, haha LOL.
The Seafood set comes with shrimps, scallops, cuttlefish, jellyfish, fish fillet, fish dumplings, fish balls, fish cakes & seafood tofu plus the complimentary Vegatables set & 2 omega eggs, the usual stuff like I said, nothing special, the soup base is clear soup.

Ratings:
Food – 6/10 (so so only, the chili sauce not bad though)
Ambience – 6/10 (ok, I still prefer eating steamboat in an open-air area, hehe)
Price – 5/10 (pricey to me, steambost buffet in Malaysia is much better value)
Service – 8/10 (very prompt & polite)
We had lunch at the food court on the 5th floor in Bobae Tower 2 before we started doing our shopping in this clothing wholesale center.
It’s a typical food court environment, nothing fancy but the Thai food is nice here. Most of the crowd are the tenants, not many people travel to Bangkok would come here for shopping let alone eating here.
Stewed Duck Rice – 45baht
Fried Rice with Shrimps – 35baht
Fish Ball Noodles – 40baht
Seafood Tom Yum Soup – 60baht
Ratings:
Food – 9/10 (Good thai food & hearty portion)
Ambience – 6/10 (typical food court)
Price – 8/10 (consider quite cheap)
Service – 7/10 (good)
How to go to Bobae Tower: There is no Skytrain access, so take a cab or tuk tuk.
After a few hours of shopping in Chatuchak weekend market, we stopped by this stall for a drink but then we were told that we “must” order food, well ok I was a bit hungry also so I just order a Kuayteow, without even knowing what they actually serve there……

I can’t tell you where exactly this stall is, I can’t identify my location in the Chatuchak all the time and if you have been there before, you’d know what I mean.
Then the Kuayteow soup with Chicken came and it taste so yummy! Then hubby also ordered another one with Noodles. It taste like the herbal soup chicken and they serve with drumstick, chicken wing tip & chicken feet (my favourite….!), quite value for money for a price of 40baht.

Ratings:
Food – 9/10 (Yummy yummy if you like herbal soup)
Ambience – 6/10 (well it’s a stall by the Chatuchak street so….)
Price – 8/10 (reasonable)
Service – 7/10 (very prompt)
How to go to Chatuchak weekend market: Take the Skytrain and get down at BTS-Mo Chit (N8)
The Loft is located on the 7th floor of Central World Plaza. It’s a upper class food court in the shopping mall that serves a great variety of pan-Asian food.
When I was snapping this photo, I was told by the security guard that I’m not allowed to take any photos (:P):
Seafood Noodle with Thick Gravy – 65baht
Pork Noodles – 50baht
Fish Ball KuayTeow Tom Yum – 50baht
Fried Oyster – 60baht
Ratings:
Food – 8/10 (excluding the seafood noodle in thick gravy, they just pour the pre-cooked gravy on top of the noodle & the noodle is so rough)
Ambience – 8/10 (the seats near the window is always occupied!)
Price – 8/10 (reasonable for an upper class food court)
Service – 7/10 (very attentive)
How to go to Central World Plaza: Take the Skytrain and get down at BTS-Chidlom (E1)
P/S: You’ll be given a pass that contains 1000baht of value. Give the pass to the stall when you order food, they will swipe it and deduct accordingly. Pay the bill at cashier when you leave the loft.
This small shop is located on the opposite side of Grand Palace. So if you happen to visit Grand Palace, do stop by here & try the noodles soup. The taste is not bad, although the shop looks a bit run down.
Ratings:
Food – 6/10 (above average, it’s clear soup & if you like spicy, add in the chili flakes, hot hot hot!)
Ambience – 4/10 (sitting outside is better, it’s quite stuff inside)
Price – 7/10 (ok)
Service – 7/10 (they are Chinese, can understand English)
I will be showcasing some of the nice food we had during our recent Bangkok trip and also the places where we dine in, this could be a food guide for the Bangkok travellers.
The food center on 6th floor at MBK Mall, great variety of food in a decent environment.

We spent 160baht for our lunch on the following:
Stewed Beef & Beef Balls Noodles – 50baht
Braised Pork Knuckle Rice with Pickles – 50baht
ABC – 30baht (more than 20 types of toppings to choose from)

Durian Glutinuos Rice – 30baht
Ratings:
Food – 9/10 (for pork knuckle alone I would give 10/10, hehe)
Ambience – 7/10 (typical food court)
Price – 8/10 (quite reasonably priced)
Service – 7/10 (they understands English, some are Chinese, worst case just point at the photo or the menu)
How to go to MBK Mall: Take the Skytrain and get down at BTS-National Stadium (W1)
P/S: They used coupon system (many of the food courts in Bangkok does the same) but you can refund the unused coupon within the same day.
