Finally, I have made up my mind to enroll Dillon to Mayter Montessori Kindergarten, which is located at Taman Tayton View on last Saturday.
Hubby and I brought Dillon along and he obviously like the place very much, as what I’ve expected anyway but, I don’t think he is afraid of the teacher somehow because he was sound by the teacher when he refuse to go home and start throwing tantrum there…. Well, I think it’s time for him to learn about discipline at school.
Manage to snap some pictures of the place:
I’m going to share about the fees, since I’ve already shared on Reka and YuDer as well:
Registration: 50
Uniforms = 60
PE tee&short = 27
Reading materials (yearly) = 200
Montessori apparatus, books and worksheets,
snacks & misc (half yearly) = 360
School fees + computer (monthly) = 300 (Jan – Nov only)
The fees for one whole year is still cheaper than YuDer but more expensive than Reka. Of course apart from fees, there are also several other things I look at before making this decision, you can read about it in my previous posts.
I have also confirmed the Van to fecth Dillon to and fro school. As mentioned in my previous post, the school starts at 8.00am and the van will have to fetch him at 7.05am, which I think it’s too early for him, and for me as well so I’ve decided to enroll him to the afternoon class, which starts at 11.30am. The van will come at 10.45am, just nice for Dillon to take his bath and have his breakfast without rushing. The afternoon class shall end at 2.45pm, when he reaches home around 3.15pm, it’s just nice for him to have his tea time and snack before he takes a nap.
So everything is been settled now, will have to go back to school to collect books and uniforms in Dec and apart from that is just counting days to Dillon’s open school day…….. seriously speaking, I think I’m probably more excited than he does. LOL
I went scouting for kindergarten in the past months (read here if you don’t already knew it) and well, actually I have only been to 3 kindergartens so far and I have planned to enroll Dillon before end of this month but I’m still deliberating.
My criteria is actually very basic and simple:
1. The kindy is decent, spacious and well ventilated. Have space for kids to play around freely while studying. (I don’t prefer corner double storey link house, too cramp)
2. The teachers and teaching method. (I prefer Montessori teaching)
3. The school fee is not too expensive or overpriced. (this can kill me when I eventually sending 2 kids)
4. The location is not too far from my house. (because I only plan to send half-day, will need to arrange transport)
After I have visited Reka and Yuder, I went to Mayter Montessori school in Taman Tayton also and I just love the place at first sight, and it actually fufill my above criterias number 1 to 3.
The only thing that is holding me back now is the location. This kindy is not located in my area, it is about 15-20 minutes (by car) away from where I live. There is a private 10-seater van that can fetch him but I’m just worried that he has to get up very early for the school that starts at 8.00am!!
Some people have asked if I’m comfortable to let the van fetch Dillon for such distance, since he is only 3 years old by this year end, they actually think nearer is better for him. But my husband said maybe this is a good start to train him to be independent, and waking up early also means sleeping early and it should be a healthy lifesyle.
What are your criterias?
I have been a full time working mum (FTWM) for almost 3 years now (Dillon will be turning 3 this Dec), and I always feel that my weekends are busier than my working days. Although I have maids at home to help out but still, I find that I’m always occupied over weekends, it could be playing with my kids, meeting my family, cooking, shopping for household stuff, doing my laundry, doing my online stuff and such, but most of the time I just don’t know what I have done over the weekends when I return to work on Monday. (that’s why you don’t normally see my blog post on weekends)
I always plan to catch up some sleep during my off days and weekends (I love sleeping and I can sleep for very long hours if not interrupted, my record used to be 16hours straight!) but most often I ended up being more tired. With a super active son who is in his terrible tantrum phase, and a very clingy daughter at home, I think this is the kind of life that I have to expect and accept, hahaha lol
Having said that, I do enjoy every bit of my life and yes, I’m a contended FTWM.
What about you?
A few Multiply’s mummies including myself, were invited by our mummy friend – Jennifer, to a dinner at Marco Polo Restaurant at Wisma Lim Foo Yong, KL last night. The dinner is in conjunction with celebration of her son, Nicholas’s birthday.
The multiply mummies who attended include mummy Peggy, mummy Evane, mummy Hooisee and myself. Mr. Yiau was also there, as I’ve promised Jennifer to taake some nice photos for her, FOC of course, hehehe.
I only brought Kaith along since my mother-in-law wanted to bring Dillon to attend another wedding dinner, I believe Kaith has surely enjoyed herself to the fullest at the party.
Just wanted to share on good stuff.
As what most of the parents does, I do not add any flavouring to my baby’s food before they turned one but when they grow older and demand for tastier food, instead of using salt and normal soy sauce, I got this Bragg’s Liquid Aminos, which I find it’s less salty, and a much healthier option for our young kids.
Ingredients: Bragg Liquid Aminos are made from health-giving, NON-GMO soybeans and purified water. They are an excellent, healthy, gourmet replacement for Tamari and Soy Sauce. Not fermented or heated and Gluten-Free. More information about the product.
I have been using this since Dillon started having table food up till now, normally I will add in noddle soup, or mee goreng, dishes like steam egg, tofu & vegetables. In fact, it’s good for adults too but it’s just that the price is higher than the ordinary soy sauce we used.
You can get this in Bio-green Organic shop (I believe other organic shops should have too), a 200ml bottle cost about RM18 – 19 and can last for 2-3 months.
