Have you ever organized a house party before? I know, sometimes what makes us back off is the food preparation, and the cleaning afterwards. But to me, I still prefer a party held at home, because it’s more cozy for the guests, more privacy for chatting and especially with kids around, it’s always safer.
I myself had attended a New Year dinner party at my friend’s place last week and the arrangement was good, and easy for everybody. There were 10 of us (excluding the kids) and we had western menu on that night. The host ordered a roast leg of lamb with roast potatoes as main course and did the prawn cocktail, then one of us did the garden green salad, one did egg mayo sandwiches for the kids (but it ended up in 2 man’s stomach), then the rest of the people (including me) chip in to buy a lovely cake for dessert.

The preparation is also simple and hassle-free, the prawn cocktail, salad and sandwiches are just easy to make. For the roast leg of lamb, we ordered it with just a phone call and then it’s delivered to the doorstep! Same goes with the cake, just call to place order and pay online, then it’s delivered to us, it is as simple as A-B-C.

The roast leg of lamb with roast potatoes serve 8 -10 people and it’s really yummy, especially the homemade mint sauce, it’s by far the tastiest I’ve ever had, this cost only RM160.00 including delivery.

For dessert, we ordered Su’s cake and we chose the Chocolate Velvet Cake, not only that it looks attractive, it is really delicious too! The chocolate is so rich but not too sweet, everybody feels so satisfied after having a slice of the cake. This cost RM85.00 with delivery RM10, trust me, it’s really worth the money, and yes, they do cup cakes also.
So next time if you are thinking of organizing a party, try to contact these people, they have a website for you to browse through before placing your order.

I have attended a meaningful event last Saturday, organized by Anggugu – a chinese breastfeeding forum. I’m one of the member and Mr. Yiau was also helping out on photography on that day.
There are booths like Fabulous Mom, The Baby Bliss, Bibi Palace, MumnBaby, Uniq Fullmoon and many more selling kids & mommy’s stuff.

The most meaningful moment was during the “Group Breastfeeding for 1 Minute” event, in conjunction with World Breastfeeding Week. There are so many great mommies who keep up to breastfeed their kids even up till 2 – 3 years old and they are not shy or afraid to breastfeed even in the public, the determination and courage are really touching….. How I wish I coul be part of this but too bad have stopped breastfeeding for too long.

Thanks to Anggugu’s team who have work hard together to make this event a success, there are still a lot of things to improve on but I’m sure they can do a lot better next year. Having said that, I’m already looking forward to next year’s event .
As mentioned in my previous post, tomorrow 8th August 2009 (Saturday) will be the Anggugu forum 2nd Anniversary Event in conjunction with World Breastfeeding Week.
Apart from the “Group Breastfeeding for 1 Minute” event at 11am, there will be forum at 11.30am and also seminar by Dr. Koe at 3pm. Of course there are booths selling baby and kids wear, nursing wear, toys, books and etc. For mommy’s convenience, there’s a baby room for the babies and reading corner for the kids to keep them occupied as well.
If you happen to be in the area, or have no plans for the weekend, do drop by Global Business Park, Jupiter Hall (level 4) between 10am – 5pm to attend this event and visit me…..hehehe and oh by the way, parking is free!!

I’m glad that I have participated in the Friso brings my family out event held at KidzSports & Gym One Utama last Saturday. It was a great and successful family event and I’m happy to be part of it.
I didn’t manage to attend any seminars as I have to look after the 2, while Mr. Yiau taking pictures. Dillon and Kaith have enjoyed themselves at the play area, especially in the gym room, ball pit and the mega slides. However, while most kids enjoyed the magic show by Mr. Banana so much, it’s not something for my kids, they just enjoy running around playing on their own.
There are a lot of families and children, easily more than 300 people were there I believe. It’s not easy to keep an eye on both Dillon and Kaith especially all children were wearing the official T-shirts, all of them look so similar and it’s difficult to spot them among the crowd.
But Kaith was a lucky girl that she got spotted by the mystery hunter and that has won us a Dutch Lady gift hamper worth over RM100, well it’s not bad at all as a consolation prize since we didn’t win the grand prize. See how happy I was when receiving the hamper!! But I was indeed very happy because the person who won the grand prize 3D2N Disneyland Hong Kong trip is my friend Yatie and I’m really glad for her. (ahem, yatie jangan lupa kirim souvenirs ye, hahaha LOL)
I have also manage to catch up with Joanna and Lian, and of course the famous 5xmom (ok ok I know you, but you dunno me, hehe). Too bad I’ve missed Jansey and Karen, have both of you seen me or my kids?
Anyway, thanks to Friso and Nuffnang for such great event, I hope there will be more to come.
A few Multiply’s mummies including myself, were invited by our mummy friend – Jennifer, to a dinner at Marco Polo Restaurant at Wisma Lim Foo Yong, KL last night. The dinner is in conjunction with celebration of her son, Nicholas’s birthday.
The multiply mummies who attended include mummy Peggy, mummy Evane, mummy Hooisee and myself. Mr. Yiau was also there, as I’ve promised Jennifer to taake some nice photos for her, FOC of course, hehehe.
I only brought Kaith along since my mother-in-law wanted to bring Dillon to attend another wedding dinner, I believe Kaith has surely enjoyed herself to the fullest at the party.
A casual dinner with some daddies, mummies & kids were organised at Bijou Mont Kiara on 29th Dec 2007 (Sat). The occasion starts at 6.30pm and adjourned at 9.30pm after the Gift Exchange session. We had 5 families that consists of 10 adults and 9 kids in the house where the eldest is 8 years old and the youngest is Kaith at 6 months old. Most of the kids fall in the age range of 1.5 – 3 years old.
All kids had fun at the playground while the parents chatting away but we couldn’t chat much with each other because most of the time we were still keeping our eyes on the kids.

The ambiance was cozy and food was good, and it was great to see how the kids interact with each other and had fun playing together.
Thanks to everyone who made this gathering a memorable one, I’m looking forward to the next get together.

On the 31st Dec 07, we went to the Red Box Plus karaoke in Pavilion KL for New Year countdown celebration. The place is almost fully booked despite of its expensive package, well, not that really expensive compare to what you’ll be charged to get the similar kind of entertainment & fun if you celebrate elsewhere.
We took the package which inclusive of buffet dinner, 3 bottles of hard liquor (Chivas Regal or VSOP), 15 mixers, and usage of the karaoke room from 8pm up to 4am!! The package cost RM 1540++ and the maximum guests we can have is 15 persons, which means each person are to pay around RM 118.
Since we are a big group, we get to have a huge room with an attached restroom. The room was comfortable, the cordless mic were great (well, everything new is great I guess), service was prompt as well. The only that that I’m not satisfied would be the food, it’s a pretty lousy buffet I would say but since it’s a compulsory thing included in the package, I can’t complain much can I?
We stayed there until the place closed at 4am and we all had fun singing until everyone of us lost our voice, hahaha, what a great way to welcome the New Year!
On the same day in the evening, there is another special gathering. The mummies have known each other on Multiply blog or forum but this is 1st time we actually meet each other and the kids in person. I went with hubby, Dillon & Kaith, we only stayed for about an hour plus as we have another occasion to attend, so I didn’t really chat a lot with the mummies. Nevertheless, the gathering is short but sweet.
See how happy Kaith is when sitting in the bumbo seat. hahaha

This is a gathering with my colleagues & their kids. We have about 10 toddlers & 2 babies who turned up on that day and you can imagine how was it like. It was so much FUN!!
See how Dillon enjoyed his popcorn with the girls……..hahaha LOL

Went to baby Terry’s 1st birthday party yesterday afternoon together with Hubby & Dillon.
The food is nice & the Snoopy gift pack for Dillon is lovely too, I knew that Mummy Judy has put in a lot of “sam si” (effort) to prepare this. Thumbs up to you!
Too bad Dillon doesn’t seem to enjoy mixing with other kids but rather want to explore on his own, guess he is still at a parallel play stage or maybe he is too shy? Hahaha.
Sorry to Judy that we didn’t stay long enough but I hope Terry has enjoyed the party & likes the puzzle gift.

Although Dillon is 5.5 months older than Terry, but looks like he is more of a tiny size hor….. Judy, care to share what you feed Terry ar?
Story #1
Since majority of us, if not all, haven’t met each other before so I basically do not recognise any faces prior to the gathering. Therefore whenever I saw parents walking towards our venue with kids, I generally assume that they were here for the gathering. It has actually embarrassed me twice when I opened the door & attend to the parents whom I thought were our members, only to find out that they were to take some brochures and activities schedule of Tumble Tots, they even mistaken me as a staff there.
Story #2
Tumble Tots has given each parents a free copy of magazine with car stickers & etc as door gift. I was holding the magazine while pushing Dillon in stroller to the car park. When I reached my car, I casually left the magazine on my car roof, and proceed with putting Dillon in the car seat, fold up the stroller & put in the boot, then put my handbag in the front seat, start the engine & drove off. Yes, I bet you already realised it by now, the magazine! But I only recalled it when I reached home, it must have been “lying” on my car roof and dropped off along my way back. Looks like I can’t deny that I’ve been “a bit” absent-minded lately.

At the gathering, Dillon too were busy running around, exploring the whole place by himself & watch the other kids play rather than joining them to play, think this what we call the “parallel play” period for him, where he still enjoy playing solo.

Of course he was very keen on the food as well, especially poking the fried chicken with his plastic spoon & fingers (sorry all, I think his fingers were clean, hehe ^_^), playing & messing around instead of eating properly…. whichever way it is, I knew that he has had a great time there for sure.
The gathering was over around 6.50pm and Dillon was so tired that he fell asleep in his car seat in less than 10 minutes after we left the parking.
