Isn’t it great news that we can now watch World Cup matches in HD format? One of my friends who is a real football fanatics is already planning to buy the new Samsung HDTV for his new house and do a house warming party on the night when the World Cup kicks off, and everyone can party and watch the match together.
It’s almost becoming a trend that most people will choose to change job after year end bonus is announced, I’m changing my job too after the Chinese New Year. Some of my friends have actually opted to work as part time agent for term life insurance company as they want to have more time dedicated to the children, while some are doing online business to earn the side income.
My uncle had a small shop selling children books and toys and his wife was helping him to run the shop. They don’t use POS system, as they rely on using bill book and calculator. Now that the business has grown and they have more products to sell, uncle have decided to hire a shop assistant to help, and will also get the barcode scanner ls2208 to replace the manual way of cashiering.
When I was in primary school, I actually thought of doing braces to straighten my teeth but it was expensive at that time and my family cannot afford it. So now I’m still having an ugly set of teeth. I’m not sure if I can still get the braces done at my age now, perhaps it’s worthwhile to call up Plano cosmetic dentist for an evaluation.
I was thrilled when I got a call from agency that Dillon is selected for a TV Commercial job last week, this is his 1st job actually.

Dillon scratched his nose the day before, hence needs some concealer to cover the scar…….
It’s a Chinese New Year TVC sponsored by Sports Toto, and the storyline is about 3 generations in a family, so Dillon’s role is one of the grandsons.

Dillon and Darren (his cousin brother in the TVC)

Dillon and his “parents” in the TVC

Darren & Dillon with his sister Andrea & grandma in the TVC
We have to gather at the venue by 6-6.30am and so I have to wake him up at 5am and start the journey early. It was great that Dillon was not cranky at all and in fact he was very excited about the shooting.

My happpy little boy……
Although it’s his 1st experience in TVC shooting, but he did pretty well, he is very friendly and cooperative, he is not shy and easy to mix around with everybody, even the camera crew.

This was the 1st scene we shoot, and it was NG for more than 15 times, everybody jump until their legs are sore……lol
The shooting ends around 5.30pm, almost 12 hours in total duration and I felt so tired and sleepy, but Dillon was still so energetic and active, I wonder where he gets the energy from? (but soon after we get in the car, he fell into deep sleep….)
This TVC will be aired on NTV7 a week before the Chinese New Year, but you might not notice my little boy as he is so tiny and his appearance may be just few seconds on screen, hahaha…….but anyhow, this is a great experience for him, and also for mommy!
When I was pregnant for the 1st time, I know nothing at all about pregancy and baby care, so I have to buy some magazines and books to read about all I need to know. But they are not cheap at all so in order to save money, I started browing online to find the information I need and I came across a few useful websites and forums and one of them is Babies Base.
What I particularly like about Babies Base is that, it provides comprehensive information to every mom-to-be from pregnancy to baby, from toddler to child care. After reading through the articles on various pregnancy topics, I understand more about what to expect during my pregnancy. I have also learned a lot of useful tips on baby care and it had helped me through my first few motnhs with my baby.
I also like to spend time in the forum because many members would share their valuable experience in the forum and provide thoughtful advice to help new mommy like me. Even after I had 2 kids now, I still like to visit Babies Base at least once a week to read some articles on child care and discipline, and of course I’d also share my parenthood experience and exchange ideas with other parents in the forum.
Last weekend we were having spring cleaning, as Chinese New Year is only few weeks away. The ladies does the cleaning, while the guys does the painting and fixing. When my father-in-law took out his tool box, he noticed that the spring plungers were missing and he couldn’t do the fixing work. Luckily the nearby hardware shop was still opened at that time and we manage to get a new one. After a day of hard work, our house look good as new now and we’ll start decorating it this weekend.
The global economy was in a bad shape last year and a lot of big companies bankrupt, some of the companies have to lay off their staff and some have to freeze the salary increment, not to mention bonus. Many people have lost their jobs in this economic crisis and it consequently lead to many social problems. I hope this year would be a better year to all of us and the economy would be back on track soon.
This is soooo……..backdated.
Last December, we had a trip to Singapore with my sister’s family, my brother’s family and my mom, all in 7 adults and 6 kids. Bringing Dillon and Kaith to a trip isn’t easy at all, no joke.
The trip took place from 9th – 13th December and we travelled in 2 cars. Since we have a big group, we decided to stay at our uncle’s place in Johor and visit to Singapore on day trip basis.
On the 1st day we went to Sentosa Island. The last time I visited Sentosa was about 20 years ago, of course everything look totally different to me now. Right after having lunch, we took the luge ride and skyride at Imbiah, at first I’m not keen to play at all but since Dillon wanted to play so I have to tag along. Indeed it was fun especially the luge ride, it’s quite exciting when you do cornering.

The luge ride and skyride was fun. But Dillon was scared when he looked down from the skyride and keep holding me tight.
After that, we spent most of our time at the Underwater World and the kids really enjoyed it. Well, I didn’t really have the chance to look at each and every species because most of the time my eyes were glued to Dillon and Kaith, it was so crowded there and I don’t want to loose my sight on them.

Sweetie Kaith was posing in front of a beautiful aquarium, she loves taking photos nowadays.

A bunch of happy kids – my niece Ashley, Kaith, Dillon and my nephew Yang Yang
The last stop we went to was Pahlawan beach, it was close to sunset when we reached there, so there was very less people around on the beach and we all just relaxed on the deck chair having beer and snacks, while the kids making their sand castle.

It was the 1st time Kaith been to the beach, she refused to walk on the sand with her bare feet and cling to me like a Koala bear……lol

Kaith was lying on the deck chair to enjoy the relaxing moment.
The next day we visited the Singapore Zoo. After having the “experience” with the kids on the previous day, I rented a wagon there to pull the kids along. It was indeed a right thing I have done because it gaves me so much relief, without having to chase for them and worried that they will go out of my sight.
In fact this is the first time I’m visiting the Singapore Zoo, I used to hear people saying that, you won’t want to go to Zoo Negara after you have been to Singapore Zoo, and now I understand why……

Dillon and Kaith like the wagon very much, so does mommy….

Dillon and the “monkeys”
We also went to the Night Safari later on, but I found that it’s not worthwhile for us as we only took a round trip on the tram and that’s it. I reckon that it will be so much of fun if we can walk around on our feet, explore and spend time to observe the animals at night, it’s going to be a totally different experience. Too bad we can’t do it this time as we have young children and elderly around, plus everybody was too tired on the day visit. I’d definitely visit the Night Safari again the next time I come.
We have been driving this same car for more than 6 years and it’s still well kept. We didn’t do any modification to the car as it’s meant to be a family car. Recently, my cousin just bought some Mopar performance parts for his Honda, and now it makes my husband feel tempted to buy another car and modify it to his liking.
When Dillon first started pre-school last year, he was inattentive in class and cannot focus, plus he was very active and aggressive with other kids in the class. I was a bit worried and started to gather ADHD information and consult the pediatrician on his conditions. Luckily it’s not what I suspected. After a few months in pre-school, Dillon slowly adapted to the pace and now he enjoyed his school time so much.
In the good old days, yellow pages were so useful to us because it’s the most effective source for people to find contact. But nowadays, we can almost find any information on the internet. Actually free directories are still very useful especially for the tourist, as they can refer to the directories to find out about accommodation, restaurants, places to shop and to visit.
We have an in house legal department that handles all business contracts for us in the company. The work load is heavy, especially that they are short handed after 1 staff departure. It’s hard to find the right people to fill the vacancy, maybe we should advertise on dedicated websites for Legal job search, then at least the right crowd are being targeted.
